Started in 2008, Angels on the Avenue was created by those who volunteered and created the "Life Enriching Garden" at St. Augustine Health Campus. Wanting to do more for St. Augustine Health Campus, the group "spun-off" and created the "Angels" as a way of further helping the residents of the campus and having a voice in the direction in which raised funds could be used. Today, the "Angels" are focused on each resident and are funding resident outings in 2011. With 97% of the residents on Medicaid, personal funds to partake in activities are non-existent. The "Angels" provide these needed funds so residents can continue to enjoy life and be part of the "community".
